IN addition to misspellings, we are seeing many companies are building &quot;microsites&quot; with unique URLs for specific to a campaign or to a product launch or to an event, or to create an authority site about a subject. For example, we work with a number of non-profits and they launch microsites with domain names associated with a disease or a disaster or a cause they are supporting. I am seeing the same practice used by politicians, even in local elections :).

I think this trend will grow, especially with the increased integration of offline and online (and mobile).

		<description>For most businesses I would say having multiple domains is overkill. Unless your business is getting type in traffic or is receiving most of its traffic through offline marketing strategies. In that case, the most useful domains to acquire would be misspellings of your main domain.</description>
