What do we mean by Actionable Insight?

We want you to step away from the plethora of confusing data and reports and focus on your key business metrics, as we believe in "less is more".  The less unrelated data you have, the more you can focus on what actions are important.  

Actionable Insight also means that your executive team, your marketing team and your webmaster/IT team all have access to what matters to them most.  For example, your chief marketing officer is interested in return on investment (ROI) on ad spend.  Reporting that your ROI in the last 6 months is averaged at about 50% is a good start.   Providing that additional "insight" and showing that campaign X (the one you personally manage) outperformed all other campaigns and showed an ROI of 75% - will get you a lot more kudos.  Demonstrating that the landing page improvements (based on the results of your Multivariate testing experiments) for campaign X were the drivers behind this increased ROI, and presenting how you plan to apply these insights to the other campaigns - that's Actionable Insight, and will definitely get you the raise you have been waiting for!

  • The graph below, trends the "Cost-per-Transaction" based on the source of traffic.
  • The graph demonstrates how proper traffic measurement and segmentation helps identify the cost of acquisition of each of the marketing channels
  • Once the under-performing channel (in this case the yellow bar depicting Google Content Traffic) was identified, better campaign targeting and landing page optimization can lead to a five-fold improvement in cost per acquisition.
